Description
CD164, also known as sialomucin core protein 24 isoform 1, is a type I transmembrane O-glycosylated protein that is expressed on activated perivascular and stromal cells in embryonic and tumor neovasculature. It plays a key role in hematopoiesis by facilitating the adhesion of CD34+ cells to the stroma and by negatively regulating CD34+CD38 (lo/-) cell proliferation. This protein also plays an important role in prostate cancer metastasis and the infiltration of bone marrow by cancer cells. Recombinant human CD164 protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques
